Africa Gets Investments Worth Twice The Amount It Gets As Aid

The African Economic Outlook has created a report on the total commercial financial inflows into Africa. The report also included the remittances from the diaspora and came up with a cumulative figure that is twice the amount of donor aid given to the continent.

For instance, back in 2013, the total sum of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Portfolio Investments and remittances totaled $136 billion. A figure that is 244% more than the $56 billion received in as the total Official Development Assistance (ODA). This year, the trend is expected to remain unchanged with $138 billion investments expected to be made across the continent and $55 billion as ODA. For more on this, follow this link>>
