October 26th, 2015 marked the day the Redmond, Washington DC headquartered multinational corporation Microsoft open its flagship retail store in New York City (NYC). Microsoft store in NYC is located at 677, 5th Avenue.
It is also important to note that the Microsoft Store in New York is located just a few blocks away from its arch-rival Apple’s store. The store has five floors and is reported to be the biggest store the Redmond Company has around the world.

Kelly Soligon, the general manager, Worldwide Marketing, Microsoft Retails and Online Stores in a statement said, “One of our goals since we started the stores in 2009, was to have a real marquee location where we could bring an expanded retail presence.”
The Microsoft store in NYC covers a 22,269 square feet and has five floors and a big glass façade. Since its opening, the Microsoft store has been the talk of the town. People can access the five stores via a magnificent glass elevator or by use of stairs connecting all the floors. The first three floors of the Microsoft store are accessible by the public while the top two floors are only for staff use.

The store houses all of Microsoft gadgets and inventions ranging from the recently launched Surface Book, Xboxes, Lumia Phones, and Surface Pro 4s among others.
The Microsoft store also houses a community theatre where training sessions and seminars of about 60 people can be held. For customers with questions, the store is fitted with many Answer Desks where they can be served. The fact that the store is staffed with employees who collectively can speak a total of 19 different languages means that people from different parts of the world can feel at home while at the store. Some of the languages spoken by the staff include Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, Spanish and Arabic.
The store also features a Culture Wall that showcases all the significant landmarks you can find around NYC, and Microsoft has promised not to use the wall to show ads.
