How Others Can Share Their Photos on Your iOS 7 Photo Stream [Guide]

Before Apple released its iOS 7, users only had the option to share photos with families and friends on their photo stream. But now, Apple has given users the option to give anyone access to add their photos into your albums. To do this, first you need to make sure that the person you want to share photos with is in your contacts and that they are willing to share photos. This is how to go about it: they need to navigate to Settings, then go to Photos and Camera and turn the Photo Sharing option on. iCloud will also have to be enabled in order to receive the invite to share photos on your stream.

To create a new shared photo stream, simply open the Photos app on your home screen and tap the blue button labelled ‘Shared’ at the bottom of the screen. Then tap the blue + button that appear at the top of the screen and enter a name for your new stream. After you have named your new stream, tap ‘Next’ and start adding the names of the people you wish to share your photos and videos with. Once that is done, tap ‘Create’ and voila, the stream will be sent to the people you have added.

There is also the option to add new photos or users to an existing stream. This can be done by opening the Photos app. Tap ‘Shared’ then ‘Streams’ and click on the stream you want to modify. Adding more photos is possible or if you want to add more users; hit the ‘People’ tab at the bottom to do so. Do make sure that the ‘Subscribers Can Post’ toggle is green in order to let people add files to your album. If you don’t want them to, simply toggle it off. You are also able to delete a stream from this window by scrolling down and selecting ‘Delete Photo Stream’.

Once everything is set up, your friends and family will be able to share their photos with you and comment on the files you have uploaded to the shared album. It’s a neat feature Apple included in iOS 7 and makes it that much easier for us to connect with our family and friends via photos. Update your iPhone, if you haven’t already, to iOS 7 to avail this small but awesome feature.
