These 4 Nigerian Students made the cut to the Conrad Challenge international innovation challenge finalists

Whitesands School + Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Challenge Summit + Smoke-Free World category + Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex + Afolabi Williams, Osagumwenro Naaman Ugbo, Olubusiyi Famobiwo

The Whitesands School in Lagos, Nigeria sent a team of four junior students to the 2018 Power to participate in the Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Challenge Summit under the Pitch of the Smoke-Free World category. The team emerged victorious at the competition held at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida USA.

The team code-named Team Neon made it to the fourth round and final stage of the competition. Team Neon was made up of Afolabi Williams, Osagumwenro Naaman Ugbo, Olubusiyi Famobiwo, and Menashi Mordi together with their coach Mattew Omotoso.

Team Neon was the only African team to make it to the final stages of the competition. The team’s idea was Virtual Farm projects, which fell under the Smoke-Free World category of the Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Challenge Summit competition.

The Conrad Challenge in a global and multi-phased innovation competition pitting together the most innovative ideas within the Aerospace Aviation, Energy, Cyber Technology, Health Nutrition, Environment, Security, Energy, and more recently, Smoke-Free World.
