Acer unveils 4 new Laptops at CES 2018 including world’s thinnest Swift 7 Ultrabook

Acer just like LG, HP, Samsung, is making a mark at the CES 2018. It has unveiled four new killer laptops including what is being referred to as ‘the world’s thinnest laptop.’ Three of the four laptops Acer unveiled at CES 2018 are an upgrade to its Windows lineup, the Swift 7, Nitro 5, and Spin 3. It has also unveiled the Chromebook 11, for those of you who are big on Chrome OS.

Acer Swift 7 – World’s Thinnest Laptop

According to Acer, the Swift 7 (SF714-51) is “the thinnest computer in the world” measuring 8.98mm at the thickest point. The laptop is powered by the 7th Gen Core i7 chip backed by an 8GB RAM and a 256GB ROM.

The Swift 7 comes with a 14-inch display with a 1080p resolution. You might be interested to know that last year’s model had a 13.3-inch display, so for this year, Acer has expanded the screen. Acer also says the laptop can serve up to 10 hours on a single charge. The laptop is expected to start shipping this March, and will start retailing at $1,699.

Acer Spin 3

The Spin 3 (SP314-51) comes with the 8th Gen Intel Core chip and a 14-inch full HD display. It has a 360-degree hinge that allows you to turn the screen to use the device as a laptop, a tablet, and in ‘tent-mode.’

Acer claims the Spin 3 can give you up to 12 hours of work time on a single charge. The laptop will officially launch next month and will start retailing at $599.

Acer Nitro 5

This device is for gamers, but not power gamers, as it can only support casual gaming. It comes with a 15.6-inch display, AMD Radeon RX560 graphics, latest AMD Ryzen mobile chip and a 4GB RAM.

It also includes the NitroSense software that gives you real-time metrics for monitoring your CPU and GPU. The Nitro 5 (AN515-42) will start shipping in May starting at $799.

Acer Chromebook 11

The Chromebook 11 new model (CB311-8HT/CB311-8H) packs all the power of Chrome OS inside a fanless machine said to run for up to 10 hours on a single charge. It comes with two USB 3.1 Type C ports, 4GB RAM, and an 11.6-inch display.

It comes in variant of 16GB or 32GB eMMC storage as well as in variants of touch and non-touch display. It will start shipping in April at starting price of $249. Like most modern Chromebooks the Chromebook 11 supports Android app from the Google Play Store.
