When Booking A Hotel: What Do Kenyan Travellers Look For?
Our survey reveals surprising facts and figures about what Kenyan travellers look for when they book a hotel.
Swimming Pool are increasingly important for the Kenyan traveller, 42 % of them prefer hotels providing this luxury and freshness of the pool.
Whether it is to download a film, keep in touch with friends and family or to update social media feed with pictures from their trip, Wifi remains essential – it is rated second with 31 %. The air conditionning comes third with 27 %.
More than 40% of Kenyan travellers look for the comfort and affordability of 3 star hotels. 22 % look for the luxury of 4 star and 21 % for the 2 star. With 7 %, one star hotels are the least frequently booked. Access to the internet and services like Jovago have empowered travellers to be able to find the best value hotel for their needs.
64 % of travellers sort their search results based on price (lowest to highest) with 36 % prioritizing ratings and reviews (best to worst).
Our survey gives some surprising facts : the longest stay booked was for 89 nights, the cheapest room booked in December 2014 was only 6 US $ a night and the most expensive was 2065 US $.
Finally, the most remote hotel in Kenya is Proland Inn near Lokichogio (Turkana Lake) and South Sudan.
