Etisalat has just announced the finalists for its 2015 Prize for Innovation. The telecom operator started the program aiming at discovering and growing Nigerians youths with innovative ideas, products and solutions based on the mobile broadband technology.
Digital Back Books and Study Math Lab were picked as the finalists for the Most Innovative Product/Service category of the Prize.
Traffigator Tech and Dedicated Traffic Mapping Device were picked as the finalist for the Most Innovative Idea category of the prize.
Etisalat has set out a goal for itself of nurturing talents and promoting creativity within the Nigerian ecosystem. The company’s CEO and a member of the Board of Innovators of the Prize, Matthew Willsher said the following in an event in Lagos, Nigeria:
“The 2015 finalists of the Etisalat Prize for Innovation are truly remarkable and reflect the rigor with which they were chosen by the judges. Each member of the judging panel came up with the definite and strong points of view about what they considered an innovative product/service or idea to be.
We are honored to recognize these remarkable innovations and the individuals behind them and we look forward to celebrating the winners at the award ceremony taking place on the 6th of November 2015.”
The innovators chosen as winners of the most innovative product or service category will walk home with N5 million prize. Additionally they will be awarded high-end mobile devices, an Etisalat MiFi with free data for one year, product promotion on the Etisalat’s online platforms and an in-house Business Development Mentoring program.
