Israeli Inventions Wants You To Charge Your Phone Wirelessly Using Beams Of Light
An Israeli startup has come up with a technology that can allow users to charge safely just about any devices using nothing but LED beams of light. The startup, which goes by the name Wi-Charge, says that the technology is capable of recharging your smartphone, tablet or portable speaker just as quickly as a wall outlet does. It can also charge a number of devices simultaneously from a maximum distance of 30 feet.
The technology works on the same principles as the infrared light beams found in a typical TV remote control, but with a significant exception of being a million times stronger. The Wi-Change technology is said to use mirrors to bounce off beams of light back and forth through LED. Every time a beam of light passes through LED it collects more photons and its energy level increases, just like a laser light does.
The energy beam is then collected in a photovoltaic cell; just like in any typical solar-charged device. The photovoltaic cell is connected to the Wi-Charge adapter that is plugged into the device’s being charged. The photons are converted into electricity that charges the devices.
