Sadly, accidents are part of life, especially in competitive sports like bicycle racing. Well, that is exactly what happened in the Tour de France, which started this Saturday.
In Stage 1 time trial, Dylan Groenewegen of Lotto NL-Jumbo had an accident. His bike slipped while making a turn, sending him crashing butt-first on the cold, wet tarmac road. What happened next is even more astonishing.
Groenewegen fell butt-first onto the wet road, and started sliding, and sliding, and sliding… until he got to the other side of the road. Actually, he kept sliding until he crashed into safety blockade at the opposite side of the road.

Though he did get back up onto the bike and finished the race.
