South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria came up top in the Enabling Digitalization Index (EDI) 2018 report

In the 115 countries studied in the Enabling Digitalization Index (EDI) report, South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria are the top African countries that provide a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in the digital sphere.

In the report, Euler Hermes showcases each of the country’s capacity for providing an enabling environment for businesses to achieve their full potential in an economy that is increasingly digital.

The report used various benchmarks in ranking the countries including the ability to reduce the digital inequalities, use of pivotal territories and sectors, bank on smart logistics, development of human capital, and digital regulations.

In the report, South Africa takes the lead in African ranking, coming in at position 46, followed by Kenya at 70, and Nigeria ranking 100 out of the 115 countries.
