IT salaries in Canada

IT industry offers some of the competitive salaries in Canada. The average salary is $81,750, which is slightly up over last year’s $81,500. The bottom 10% of earners in the tech field make less than $40,600, whereas the top 10% of earners in technology see their salary surpass $114,300.

Tech skills in 2019

The top demanding skill is Java. Linux climbed 2 steps to be the second most in demand. The top third skill is JavaScript. SQL, Python, C#, C++ skills follow. The popular development methodology is agile. Expectedly, the most demanding skills are coding related. You’re in a strong position in the candidate-driven tech job market if you know how to code.

The most in demand certification of 2019 is Cisco’s network certification. Project management is also one of the top skills in IT. The top certifications in 2019 are overall diverse in nature, covering a range of IT skills.
