Top 5 Best Laptops Debut at #CES2015
So the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) winded up yesterday. So much was said, a lot of things was done, many new tech were unveiled, it is easy to get overwhelmed with all the information overload. Now that the noise is starting to die down, we take a sober look back and see exactly which were the best tech gadgets launched in the last few days in Las Vegas, Nevada.
First we start off with laptops. The following at the laptops that stood out at the just concluded CES2015:
Alienware 15
What sets this laptop from its competitors is Dells’s Graphics Amplifier – an externally fitted bay that supports single PCI Express graphics cards of up to 375 watts. This device sits off to the side and gives you desktop-level graphics capability on your laptop. The extra hardware is needed given this laptop is available with a a 4K panel. Not even the GTX 980 can take up Ultra HD.
Lenovo LaVie Z
It looks like a laptop but can transform so easily into a wonderful extremely lightweight tablet weighing in at 1.72 pounds. Under the hood, you get Intel Core processor tacked away and enables the laptop/tablet give you up to eight hours of work time. It lower-end on the HZ550 model sits a standard clamshell laptop having keyboard at the bottom and the screen on the front. But the HZ750 (comes with an optional Core i7) resembles the Lenovo Yoga. One remarkable thing about the LaVie Z is that it is very light weight.
The HZ550 is said will retail at $1,300 while the HZ750 will retial at $1,500.
Dell XPS 13
This is probably the sleekest looking laptop that you’ve seen so far. It has done away with the bezels; that line where your screen ends and the rest of the world starts. It has a touchscreen with 3200×1800 resolutions. Under the hood, it is hiding away the 5th Generation Core i series processor (from i3 to i7 depending on your preference). It also come with a 4GB or 8GB RAM and an impressive 256GB SSD.
The Core i3 model is said will retail at $799 while the Core i7 fitted with QHD+ display will retail at around $1,899.
Samsung A TIV Book Blade 9
Weighing in a just over two pounds, though heavier that the LaVie Z mentioned above it is still impressively light weight. Under the hood it packs the Intel Core M-5Y10C processor that enables the laptop to have an impressive 12.5 hours of battery life. It also has a 256 SSD, 12.2 inch WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) LED display, and two 10-watt Dolby Surround Sound speakers to sooth your music experience.
This laptop will start retailing at $1,200 but can go up to $1,400 with twice the RAM and Storage space.
Acer Chromebook 15
I think most people view Chromebooks as the side-laptop; a laptop for when you need something easily portable and cheap that you can easily take with you for your web-browsing needs.
The Acer Chromebook 15 is said will change how people view Chromebooks and start taking Chromebooks as a serious computing laptop. It has a larger display, spacious keyboards and touchpad making it more appealing for mainstream usage. This is one Chromebook you can use for all of your computing needs on a laptop. Well, unless of course you mind using the Chrome OS.
