Although a significant number of people on Android devices rely on Google maps for their GPS-navigation needs. Waze is increasingly growing popular given its accuracy, its informative traffic information, and its social network angle.
This social navigation app is about to get more intelligent after it has received an update that will let users know whenever they are over speeding. Already the app could warn you whenever it detects that traffic police could be ahead and on the lookout for over speeding vehicles. This new update will warn you whenever you exceed the speed limit on the road you are traveling on.

Although it will not go off as an annoying alarm, you will see a warning pop up from the bottom side of the screen. This warning will go away once you have slowed down to the set speed limit. Waze gives you a choice to customize the warning; you can place an audio cue and determine how often the over speeding warning icon pops up on your phone.
However, this Waze update is currently only available in a few selected countries around the world. Countries such as Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Czech Republic, El Salvador, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad, Tobago, and Uruguay.
The rest of the world will have to wait a little while longer before the update rolls out to them. That should not disappoint you much since this feature as designed by Waze is meant to help you when you are driving on unfamiliar roads. Otherwise, you will find Waze experience on your usual roads just as satisfactory as it has always been.
