According to the latest diversity report released by Apple, the company’s employee headcount consists of 54% white, 19% Asian, 13% Hispanic and 11% black. In terms of sex, Apple is 69% male, although the company says it has employed more female workers over the past year. According to Apple, their new employees is 35% female. The company also brought on board 2,200 black employees across the U.S.; a 50% increase from last year. Globally the company hired 11,000 women; a 65% increase from the previous year.
In a public letter, the Company’s CEO, Tim Cook wrote: “In total, this represents the largest group of employees we’ve ever hired from underrepresented groups in a single year.”

“Diversity is critical to innovation, and it is essential to Apple’s future. We aspire to do more than just make our company as diverse as the talent available to hire. We also aspire to make a difference beyond Apple.”
