The SA Female Entrepreneur Challenge – #0to6matters – is a program by Innovation Edge and The Startup History. The program seeks to answer the question: “How might we create environments that support positive early life experiences for children in Khayelitsha between the ages of zero (conception) to six?”
Female entrepreneurs who get voted as the top three best ideas will each be awarded $370 in cash and business incubation. The challenge is open to all female entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas, which can “turn unexpected spaces into engaging places.”
The program is also looking for business ideas that will, in the long run, create a support network for young mothers. The application window closed on August 17, and currently, applicants are being vetted with those picked to participate to know themselves on August 25.
The picked startups will take on to pitching decks on August 25, before a panel of investors and industry experts in Khayelitsha. The top three best startups will be picked from the pitch presentations.
