Frontier Investors Dinner in partnership with PAN Africa Network New York: Angel Investors Eyeing Africa | November, 4th

On November 4th, 2015, Frontier Investors will be hosting a group of about 20 people at the La Reve in New York City for the Frontier Investors Dinner.

The Frontier Investors Dinner brings a gathering of angel investors made up of some Africa’s most seasoned professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors from various professional backgrounds. The attendees will share their experiences as they dedicate their time and resources towards identifying various lucrative investment opportunities across the African continent. They will also collaborate to grow their individual crafts in a constructive way.

The Frontier Investors began their activities in London, UK and have since grown to become one of the most prominent platforms for venture capitalists looking to invest in the high-growth companies focusing on the African market. The organizers of the Frontier Investors Dinner promises a night of extravagant display of invaluable insight into investment opportunities in Africa that will interest all that will be in attendance. The dinner is touted as a must attend event for entrepreneurs, lawyers, consultants, and bankers among others. Some of the things the attendees to the Frontier Investors Dinner will include discussions on policy and regulations, the role of the government and highlighting various governments that are supporting innovation and startups in their countries such as Rwanda, Kenya, and Ghana. Guest Speakers at the Nov. 4th Frontier Investors Dinner: Jake Bright, Andela and Akilah’s Co-founders among other angel investors and political representatives.

Jake Bright – Author of The Next Africa – Jake is a writer, author, and Whitehead Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association with a focus on international business. He contributes as an editor and independently for publications including Fortune, The Financial Times This Is Africa, and U.S. News & World Report. Bright is a frequent commentator to media outlets and his Africa focused business reporting has received “Best Business Column” distinction by The Week magazine.

In 2015 Bright and Africa business expert Aubrey Hruby published The Next Africa: An Emerging Continent Becomes a Global Powerhouse with Macmillan Publishing. The Next Africa related events, media, and speaking have included spots with Bloomberg News, HuffPost Live, Fortune, World Affairs Council, C-SPAN, the White House Silicon Valley Africa Forum, Mic.Com, Kenya’s iHub innovation center, The Atlantic Council, and M&A Advisor. The book has a particularly strong focus on Africa’s technology movement and startup culture. A sample of its IT chapters in TechCrunch received high circulation.

Prior to his current activities, Bright spent a decade in international finance as an officer at The Bank of New York Mellon. Before that he served in the Clinton administration in The Department of Commerce and on White House staff as a speechwriter and chief aid to senior international economic advisers.

Mr. Bright earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations with a certificate in African Studies from Michigan State University. He also attended Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, attaining a Master of International Affairs degree concentrated in international economics.
