Felleng Sekha is the new Head of Regulatory Affairs at MTNThe South Africa-based international mobile telecom company, MTN Group, has appointed Felleng Shekha as the new Head of Regulatory Affairs in the organization.

Shekha is a lawyer by profession with vast experience in the management of political, policy, public, law and regulatory risk. As a professional with over two decades of experience in the ICT industry. In addition to previously working closely with policy makers, legislators, regulators, and ministers among other stakeholders to come up with policies, regulations, and legislation systems.

She was at MTN Group between 1999 and 2006 when she played a leading role in the MTN acquisition of GSM license in Nigeria. She has worked at MTN Group as the Executive Director of Corporate Services for five years.

Her appointment as the Head of Regulatory Affairs comes highly recommended. Given the Nigerian Government punishment on MTN Nigeria over failure to adhere to adhere to regulation requiring the disconnecting of unregistered SIM cards. MTN has also been recently accused of shipping out about $14 billion out of Nigeria.

MTN spokesman Chris Maroleng, said, “Felleng will…shape public policy and regulatory outcomes which are key to MTN achieving its business objectives.”
