YouTube is great! It’s one of the best places on the internet to go to and learn great stuff or have fun watching some entertaining videos. However, it really sucks when you must view an Ad every now and then; either at the beginning of the video or at intervals during playback.

The obvious solution to that inconvenience would to subscribe to YouTube premium at $10 per month. If you don’t feel like parting ways with your cash every month just so you can continue watching YouTube Ad-free, then keep reading on for the tip on how to do away with the Ads for free.

Well, there’s an app you can install to watch YouTube videos Ads-free on your Android phone. That app is Newpipe, and it is quite popular with pro-YouTubers. The app enables you to watch YouTube videos without routing you through the Google Play Services. That is to say, Google will not be able to track what you are watching; plus it also works to the advantage of those who don’t want Google tracking their activities online.

Newpipe also gives you a tasted of YouTube Red’s best features including the option to stream ad-free and download the videos for later offline viewing. The app’s developer recently added support for livestreaming videos.

You can get the app direct from GitHub at this link. Please note, since this app is not available on Google Play Store. That is to say; you will have to ‘roll up your sleeve’ and dig into your phone’s ‘Settings > Security’ and switch on the ‘Install from unknown sources.’ But first, you will need to download the alternative app store F-Droid and then proceed to install Newpipe.

Then again, you can always skip the above step and download the APK file directly to your Android device from this link.

FYI – the problem with this route is that you will not be getting future updates for the app.
