Here is Why Your iPhone 15 Pro is Heating Up According to Apple

by Roveen

The iPhone 15s have been released and the world cannot stop talking about them. From the new action button to the color schemes and the USB-C charging port. There is a lot to talk about when it comes to the iPhone 15s.

However, there is also a lot to talk about in a negative way. Many people who have been using the iPhone 15 Pros over the past few days noted that the phones were heating up quite a lot. Too much, in fact, that they are too hot to even hold.

This issue is new as Apple is known for making their phones excellent in heat dissipation.

Initially, speculation was that the new titanium frame could be to blame, as iPhones have consistently used aluminum frames.

However, Apple has refuted the claim.

What did Apple say

In a statement released on September 30, Apple gave reasons as to why the phones could be heating up.

One of the reasons was that there was a bug in the iOS 17, which is impacting some users, and that this issue ‘will be addressed in a software update.’

They also attributed the heating up to background activity when setting up the phone or restoring the device and on updates to third-party apps.

However, some users state that the phone also heated up quite a bit during charging and even when running games or apps like Google Maps.

Other reasons

However, according to famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the heating-up issues could be due to compromises with the thermal system design of the iPhone 15 Pros. The 15 Pros are made from an alloy of titanium and aluminum, and Apple could have compromised on the thermal design, reducing heat dissipating area, according to Kuo.

So, there you have it. A wide range of issues could be to blame for heating issues on your iPhone 15 Pro, so waiting for a software update is your best bet right now.
