Imagen is a text-to-image AI that Google released in 2022 to compete with the likes of Midjourney and OpenAI’s DALL-E.

Imagen 2 then, is the updated version of the limited release Imagen. Released on December 13, 2023, Imagen 2 is a leap ahead of its predecessor, boasting of several new additions and features.

The Imagen 2 has an improved image-caption understanding, which means that it can create high-quality images and also images that align closely to what the user put on the prompt.
