Netflix New Releases this week

Love at First Sight

Do you believe in love at first sight? Even if you don’t, prepare to have your heartstrings plucked like a banjo in the hands of a love-struck hillbilly. Netflix has taken Jennifer E. Smith’s novel “The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight” and turned it into a heartwarming and slightly mathematical romance. Hadley misses her flight, but don’t worry, Cupid’s got her back. She crosses paths with the dashing Oliver at the airport and boom! Love strikes faster than lightning on a rollercoaster.

They chat their way across the Atlantic, but the chaos of Heathrow Airport separates them like a pair of socks in a washing machine. Get ready for an emotional roller coaster from heartwarming to heart-crushing drama as they try to find each other again. This love story lands on Netflix on Sep. 15, so mark your calendars!

Once Upon a Crime

With a title like “Once Upon a Crime,” you should expect a fairy tale with a twist. Well, this Japanese gem delivers just that! Picture Little Red Riding Hood (Kanna Hashimoto) playing detective to find Cinderella (Yuko Araki) before the midnight clock strikes twelve. It’s like a Disney movie on steroids! This whimsical mystery drops on Netflix on Sep 14.

Glow Up Season 5

Are you ready to witness the glamorously cutthroat world of makeup artistry? Starting on Sep 12, Netflix will be serving up the fifth season of “Glow Up.” Supermodel Leomie Anderson hosts this fierce competition that pits ten talented makeup artists against each other for eight weeks of cosmetic chaos.

Judges Dominic Skinner and Val Garland will be holding nothing back as they judge everything from model makeovers to drag shows, beauty campaigns, and even celebrity red carpet events. The ten artists will be locked in a fierce race to claim the title of Britain’s Next Makeup Star and a contract that could turn these artists into the world’s top MUAs. So, pop-corn up, Netflix fingers!

Wrestlers

We all know wrestling rings are battlegrounds, but have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes? This seven-episode Netflix series peels back the curtain on the Ohio Valley Wrestling League, the breeding ground for wrestling legends like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Dave Bautista.

Follow the journey of wrestling legend Al Snow as he attempts to revive a struggling gym on the brink of financial collapse. Directed by Greg Whiteley, this series promises to bring the gym back to life in a single summer. Expect drama, sweat, and a lot of body slams, too!

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Modern marriage, relationships, and parenthood can be as unpredictable as a kangaroo on a pogo stick. In this hilarious film, Toula and Ian are on a mission to make their marriage work while navigating the maze of their Greek traditions in the face of a modern world. Throw in their teenage daughter Paris and her expectations of the modern world, and you’ve got a recipe for comedic chaos.

But wait, there’s more! Toula’s dad, Gus, discovers his marriage isn’t technically valid, so he plans an epic wedding to set things straight. The bigger the wedding, the crazier it gets. It’s a perfect family movie night Netflix New Releases option, and it hits the streaming platform on Sep 16.
