Whether we know it or not, much of our personal information is often collected every minute we are on the internet.

Many of the websites we visit and apps we use track us to learn more about our behavior and preferences, mostly for marketing purposes.

Opting out of tracking from apps can be difficult, but it is still possible. Below are some tips.

When you have an iPhone or iPad, you can stop app tracking by:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Then scroll down to Privacy and tap on Location Services.
  3. When in Location Services, if the slider is on, it means apps are tracking you. So, slide it to the ‘off’ setting.
  4. Alternatively, you can to Settings > Privacy and Security > Tracking. Under Tracking, you will see a list that shows apps that requested permission to track you. You can then turn off permission from any app on the list you want.
  5. However, if you want to stop all apps from tracking you, turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track, which is at the top of the screen.
