Applications are now open for the 2016 Slush Global Impact Accelerator. A startup funding program, seeking to bankroll the next innovative startup solutions that promise to solve the most pressing challenges around the world. While at the same time, these startups must meet the definition of impact investing.
Slush Global Impact Accelerator 2016 will bring together the best of the best startup entrepreneurs from the emerging markets to Helsinki, to scale their businesses, attract additional funding, and have them make a larger scale impact in both their immediate communities and beyond.
The program will offer among other things, pre-event coaching and a boot camp in Helsinki running from November 22 to December 2, 2016. The boot camp will culminate in Slush, one of Europe’s leading tech and startup event.
Startup entrepreneurs wishing to participate in the Slush Global Impact Accelerator 2016 are first required to take part in a local Slush event. That will be organized in their respective country of residence.

- CTIC Dakar – Senegal
- IDEÁRIO – Mozambique
- The Mediterranean Development Initiative – Tunisia
The application deadline is July 31, 2016. However, you should check with your local participating hubs; the closing date may vary per country.
Once the application windows close, the successful applicants will take part in a local competition. They will get a platform to pitch their products to a local panel of judges. 2-4 candidates will be shortlisted from the local Slush competition, and will be contacted by the Slush Selection Committee for an interview. It is this committee that will make the final decision on which entrepreneurs will advance to the Global stage of the competition.
The Slush Global Impact Accelerator is the brainchild of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland in partnership with multiple stakeholders worldwide.
