Apple has released some pretty amazing machines in the past two years, but in-keeping of its brand, they sell for the high-end markets. That is for people with deep pockets, and sadly that leaves so many out in the cold.
Unless of course, you are willing to take a second-hand device, which will probably cost you less compared to getting a brand new one. The Cupertino also knows there are so many people out there wishing they could own one of their devices.
That is why they keep a separate refurbished products program on the side, running concurrently with their main hustle of selling you (consumers) brand new devices at very premium prices. Much to most people’s surprise, 15-inch MacBook Pro launched this year is already available at the Apple’s refurbished devices store. But only for consumers in the U.S. and Canada.
So if you have been salivating after the 15-inch MacBook Pro 2018, this might be your chance. Most of them retail at about 15% less compared to a brand new one. As you can imagine, a lot of people will be scrambling to buy them, as they are technically new. The first owner probably did not use them for a long time, and then Apple always spruces up these refurbished devices to top-notch performance. A refurbished MacBook will almost be indistinguishable from a brand new one.
A refurbished laptop from Apple comes with the standard one-year warranty from the date of purchase. Also, you can extend the warranty for up to three years by purchasing the AppleCare+ package that costs $379 for the 15-inch MacBook Pro in the U.S. The 15-inch MacBook Pro 2018 started selling in Canada and U.S. stores this week.
However, there are some third-party resellers who sometimes offer consumers better deals that Apple on the refurbished market. So before running into the Apple refurbished store to make a purchase, be sure to do your research well.
