The second leg of the In2Koera Accelerator program is now accepting applications from growing and promising startups in Africa. The startups must have a minimum viable product that could be executed in Korea for socioeconomic benefits.

The program, now in its second leg, is backed by the Korean government and is geared towards luring foreign startups to setup camp in the Asian country. The Korea’s National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) manages the program and is calling out to all eligible startups in Africa to apply for the competition. There are only 30 slots available, and the competition is open to all startups across the globe.

The first leg of the competition took in 31 startups from across 18 countries including Russia, South Africa, Singapore, and India. The second leg is slated to kick off next Monday, August 21st.

According to the program’s media liaison, Guillaume Parvaix, the first cohort of startups taken in included three startups from Africa. Namely:

Ø Hello Denim Africa from South Africa

Ø Jump Queue (digital wallet company) from South Africa

Ø True West Media Consult from Ghana

DJ Kim, the VP of the National IT Industry Program Agency (NIPA), adds, “In2Korea helps startups entrepreneurs, professional job seekers, and investors succeed in Asia’s hottest startup hub, Korea. We’ve already recruited some of the best mentors and area experts in Korea, and they’re eager to get started working with startups.”

Startups that make the cut and get enrolled into the second leg of In2Korea accelerator program will get perks that include:

Ø Access to a network of seasoned Experts: Be it legal services from practicing lawyers in Korea, accountant, and marketers among other professional services who can help your business take off in the Asian country.

Ø Office Space for Free: You will get a free office and working space at the $160 million Startup Campus in Pangyo located within walking distance from tech giants of Korea.

Ø Access to a pool of Talent: You will have access to job fair events held monthly where you can meet professionals from different fields.

Ø Faster Visa Processing: If selected from this competition, your Visa to the Asian country will be fast tracked, and you will get your documents processed faster than it would have been the case otherwise.

Ø Cultural Assimilation: You will get mentored by expatriates who have been living and working in Korea for a number of years. Becoming comfortable with the language and culture will be easier.
