This article will show you a little clever trick that will enable you to read deleted WhatsApp messages even if you’re not using any of the available bootlegs such as WhatsAppGB.
The other day I got a message from my significant partner, but at the time, I was pretty held up. So I thought it best to read and reply to the message when my hands were freed up.
Alas! When I finally got around to it, I was met by the following screen.
How I wished I had installed WhatsAppGB
I like to think of myself as a genuinely classy guy. That means I only go for genuine products and would not be caught dead using bootleg products. However, in this instance, I wished I was on the bootleg version of WhatsApp – the WhatsAppGB.
After scratching my head for a minute, I turned to the good old Google, and started googling along the lines of:
how to read deleted WhatsApp messages
how to get back deleted WhatsApp messages
My googling adventure gave some fruits, which I’m about to share with you in this article.
How to Read Deleted WhatsApp Messages
If you’re on WhatsAppGB, you already have the ability to read deleted messages on WhatsApp. However, unethical or illegal that is; it raises a lot of questions with regards to copyrights and other legal and moral infringements.
This article is for people using the original version of WhatsApp by Meta and thus don’t have the ability to read a message once deleted. So let’s delve right into it.
Step 1: Go to Settings
Swap down the notification panel and tap on the cog-screw icon (Settings) located at the top-right corner of your Android smartphone.
Step 3: Click on Notifications
Step 3: Advanced Settings
Click on advanced settings
Step 4: Notification History
Click on Notification history
At this point, had you enabled this feature earlier (by turning on the toggle at the top-right corner of the screenshot below), you should see the notification history for the past 24 hours. If this is the first time you’re enabling this feature, then there will be nothing to display on the Notification History.
Now that you have enabled this feature, whenever any new notification pop-up on your smartphone, its history will be available on the Notification History over the next 24 hours. Yes, this feature enables you to read deleted WhatsApp messages – just like WhatsAppGB users do – provided you enabled pop-up notifications for messaging app.
