How to Find IP Address of Router in Computer

Router is that quintessential hardware which has all the preliminary hardware cards to route your network traffic. Like all the computer hardware devices, a router too has an IP address, which is of cardinal importance. Whenever you have to configure your router, change DNS settings, trace network paths and packets, you need to find IP address router. Router IP address is mostly different from the public and private IP address. The best way to find the IP address of your router is to use the command prompt. Open Run box and type “cmd” and hit enter.

In the command prompt terminal, write the following command and execute.

Your router IP address is listed in front of the “Default Gateway” text. This is the IP address of your router.

You can type this IP address in your browser and hit Enter to open the router settings. You can change password, DNS and other metrics from there.
