Twitter Introduces ‘Highlights’ To Better Sieve The Tweets That Interests You
“We want to help you get the most out of Twitter, no matter how much time you spend with it. While your home timeline is a great place to browse through and engage with tweets, we know it can be challenging to find the time through everything,” wrote Twitter’s Gordon Luke in a blog post.
Now tweeps will have more to work with on twitter other than re-tweets, favorites and hashtags. Introducing the new ‘Highlights’ a not-so-new feature that has been on twitter for quite a short while now. The new feature is geared towards helping tweets to better sift through the thousands of feeds on their home screens.
It works by providing twice-daily summary ‘”of the best tweets for you, delivered via rich push notification” according to Luk.
To use this feature launch the official Twitter app on your mobile device and go to the three-dot icon located at the top-right corner of the screen. Select ‘Settings’ from the drop-down menu that will pop up and select ‘Account Name’. Now tap ‘Mobile Notification’. Then scroll down to the new feature ‘Highlights’ and click on it.
After successfully following the above instructions, Android users should now see a new highlight section in the push notification. When you want to browse popular tweets from the people you know and the trending stories, this is the place to go.
