Meet Elvis Chidera, The 16 Year Old Nigerian Who Has Build An UltraSonic Arduino Robot

Elvis Chidera is a 16 year old who come from Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The teen has made headlines for making an ultrasonic arduino robot, that he say can be controlled using Bluetooth. Chidera’s Arduino robot is equipped with ultrasonic sensors that can detect objects in front of it. It also has led sensors that its uses to follow black lines.

Chidera says he is planning on fitting his Arduino robot with a camera for its surveillance. In an interview with TechMoran, Chidera shared his dreams of building a solar powered drone capable of flying anywhere at anytime.

It has been my childhood dream to build a robot,” Chidera said, “It’s my passion and I am to use it to teach people some stuff about electronics and probably sell it and use the money to get a beta system so as I build a small drone.”

In his expression of love for the robotics, he said his Arduino robot has an uno board, 1298n motor driver, Bluetooth hc-06, ultrasonic sensor, arduino sensor shield v5.0, 4 DC motors, a rc, servo, an 18650 battery and its holder.

The teen said that by the age of 11 years old, he had already begun coding, and by now he has a good mastery of j2me, php, Java and a little python. Back in the year 2012, he also made headlines for making a bulk SMS app that is believed to have stalled. Hence, he embarked on creating something else worthwhile.
