On March 22, 2016, The  EcoSystem Forum, ABAN Angels, U.S. Dept Of State’s LionsAfrica & TIGERS@MEKONG hosted a investing in Africa event in Washington DC at the U.S. Department Of State’s office.

The event was well attended by Venture Capitalist, Angel Investors and organizations that provide funding to businesses within Africa. The purpose of the event was gain a better understanding the recent rise in angel investing worldwide, and how governments and the private sector can deepen their support of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and discuss challenges and opportunities for angel investing. The speakers of the event included; Cofounder of ABAN David van Dijk, Co-Founder of Cameroon Angels Network plus i/o spaces Rebecca Enonchong, and John May VC, Angel Investor and Managing Partner of New Vantage Group.

Most of us understand that  Angel Investing is not an easy opportunity, especially in emerging markets. With that said, organizations such as ABAN (African Business Angel Network) was created with the sole purpose of partnering with other Angel Investors interested in investing in Africa.
