If you are like most people out there, and myself included, who proof-read best after hitting the ‘Send’ button, then you are going to love the latest update on Telegram.
Telegram’s latest update brings ability to edit already sent message for up to two days after hitting the ‘Send’ button. So those embarrassing typos should be a thing of the past.
This feature could also come in useful if for some reason you change your mind as depicted in the first sent message, and you can change that message instead of sending a new one. However, as to whether or not the recipient will reach a mental conclusion based on your first sent message or the second (or third, or fourth) edited message. That will remain at the recipient’s discretion.
Telegram had the following to say about this update on their blog post, “Simply tap and hold on a message, then press ‘Edit’. If you’re on desktop, press the up arrow button to edit your last message. The messages will display a small ‘edited’ label so that it’s easy to tech which were altered.”
Another thing, the update also comes along with the ability to mention people in a chat thread; whether or not they have a username notwithstanding. Simply type the ‘@’ symbol and select a contact in your address that you would like to mention.
The update also brings along a new People list in the Search function that will display your recent chats thereby enabling you to get contacts faster. That is according to Telegram. It might also be worth mentioning that there are also some noticeable positive improvements in the interface of the messaging app.
